Berber Carpet Care

Purchasing a high quality Berber carpet will allow you to enjoy your investment. If you bought a low quality Berber carpet, a carpet that was made of a fiber blend or anything except 100% wool or nylon, or a Tunisian Berber carpet, carpet care will be more challenging. Since 1986 and the introduction of DuPont Stainmaster, the light color carpets have become more popular. Since most Berber carpet in made in light colors, its popularity also increased. When having Berber carpets cleaned it is best to use minimal water and cleaning solution. Vacuuming can be inefficient because dirt gets trapped in the loops. To most effectively clean Berber carpet of high quality, it is suggested using a turbine driven vacuum cleaner when a commercial vacuum cleaner is not available on a regular basis. When Berber carpet is new or newly cleaned and carpet protector such as scotch guard will assist in protecting the carpet from stains and dirt being trapped in the loops.

Low quality Berber carpet fibers will become permanently bonded with oil-based stains. Nylon and wool Berber carpets are easier to clean when that unexpected spill occurs.
